KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 15): SkyWorld Development Bhd is collaborating with Universiti Malaya (UM) through a memorandum of agreement (MOA) to develop an Application Programming Interface (API) that will revolutionise the data integration ecosystem within the property development sector, according to a press statement issued on Thursday (Dec 14).

The MOA outlines a two-year (1Q2024 until 4Q2025) collaboration between SkyWorld and UM to develop cutting-edge technology ecosystems focusing on API development, data warehousing, data mining and an advanced data analyst system integrated with machine learning.

“The envisaged API marks a significant leap in our technological capabilities. It empowers us to seamlessly integrate data across platforms, providing a holistic view of customer integrations and unlocking new realms of operational efficiency,” said SkyWorld chief executive officer (CEO) Lee Chee Seng in the statement.

“The MOA signing (ceremony) marks a pivotal milestone toward technological transformation. We are excited to work hand-in-hand with Universiti Malaya to create a technology ecosystem that propels us into a new era of innovation in property development,” Lee added.

UM dean of the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology Prof Dr Loo Chu Kiong shared in a statement that the partnership will offer exceptional opportunities for UM students and the faculty to apply research in real-world scenarios.

“We are proud to embark on this pioneering journey with SkyWorld, to set a new benchmark in industry-academia partnerships. This collaboration reflects our commitment to nurturing innovation and fostering collaborative initiatives that have a meaningful impact on both our students and the industry at large,” Loo said.
