NCT Alliance Bhd is exploring a potential partnership with China-based Guangzhou Great Power Energy & Technology Co Ltd to develop battery energy storage system (BESS) projects in Malaysia, focusing on applications for data centres and solar power plants. The collaboration follows the signing of a non-exclusive, non-binding memorandum of agreement between NCT Alliance’s subsidiary, NCT Land Sdn Bhd, and Great Power.
The move marks NCT Alliance’s entry into a new business area beyond its core property development activities, which include residential projects, smart industrial parks and hotel operations. Great Power brings over 20 years of experience in advanced battery and energy storage technologies. NCT Alliance shares closed slightly lower at 56.5 sen, giving the company a market capitalisation of RM1.2 billion.
